A team from G&A Group once again took its place in a celebrity charity golf day, hosted by BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker.

We were delighted to once again take part in the annual event which raised an incredible £40,000-plus in support of a fundraising campaign to build a new Emergency Department at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

The fifth ‘Walker Cup’ was held at Hallamshire Golf Club in Sheffield and saw a number of celebrities support the event. These included Nick Knowles, before he went in the jungle, fellow TV presenter Gethin Jones, Gaz Beadle from reality show Geordie Shore and ex-cricketer Michael Vaughan. It was another great event as we took our place among 22 other teams for the tournament, sponsored by Auto Windscreens. In total, the event has now raised over £180,000 for Sheffield Children’s Hospital over the past five years. After the event, were also delighted to receive the following comments from Dan Walker who hosted the golf day. Dan wrote:

“Thank you again Ivor and your fellow G&A comrades for supporting our golf day. We had another amazing day raising £40,000 to build a new treatment room at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital A&E. It was lovely to have you with us and we look forward to seeing you in 2019.”

It was a great event, for a great charity, with a huge emphasis on fun as well as fundraising. So much so that our Ivor was even caught on camera, among others, singing Baby Shark
